Controversy surrounds Obama's faith office
One of the perks of the faith based initiative is that religious organizations receive federal grants to continue charity work, while they engage in discriminatory hiring practices. Because you can't spell "charity" without "discrimination".
Just because you feel you are at one with whatever god you pray to does not put you above the law. If you take taxpayer money then you are obligated to follow our constitutional laws. This is why it is so important to separate church and state. You can't take taxpayer money and then refuse to hire said taxpayers because they don't fit your ideology. More importantly you can't discriminate period!!!
If you truly want to discriminate against those that do not fit the mold of your religion then riddle me this. How come we have so many pastors, priests, and ministers molesting the children of their congregation, or dabbling in illicit and sometimes homosexual affairs? Time to practice what you preach and keep your hands out of the taxpayer's wallets and pants!
